I am intrigued with repetition and how altering or changing the direction of repeated items can create unexpected results. In Curious Containers, I am beginning to work with 3-dimensional forms made from wood. I am stacking the pieces in various configurations to create small, intimate containers suitable for rings or other precious items.

This is only the beginning..... I have two piece finished so far but will be adding more throughout the year.

Each Curious Container is approximately 4.5" x 4" wide by 3" tall. Each has a cavity of 2.25" wide by 1.25" high.

"Rhythm" has a pivoting lid and "Tempo" has a removable lid. Each is made from1/8" plywood with various "feet" and lid features. "Tempo" includes brass elements on both the feet and lid.
